Doug Engelbart, (Inventor Of The Computer Mouse) – Tiles4all!

Can you imagine life without the internet?

Doug Engelbart, the inventor of the computer mouse has sadly died at the ripe old age of 88. Can you believe that his amazing invention was patented over 40 years ago? We think of the internet as a thoroughly modern invention, so it’s quite amazing to think that someone who worked as a Radar Technician during the 2nd World War would go on to later create a piece of fabulous modern technology that we all use everyday. His first computer mouse was made during the 1960’s with a wooden shell and metal wheels; unfortunately the patent ran out before the computer mouse became as popular as it is today, so Doug Engelbart never made his fortune from this incredible invention.
